Welcome to my blog. Here you will find an exciting community based on my life. CODA is an acronym for children of deaf adults. Meaning, I’m a hearing gal and I have two Deaf parents. Living in two worlds, hearing and Deaf as a child has had a great impact on me in life. There are others just like me, which I discovered later when I was 24 years old.

Everyone is welcome here, Codas, Deaf people and hearing people too! I hope to share the message of what Coda is to me, allowing other codas an opportunity to learn about another part of themselves.

So what to expect when you visit codadiva.com? Basically the theme here is “All About Me”. I’ve planned to have all the things I would want to see on a blog, and I want to see A LOT!

While developing the plan for the blog, I wanted featured interviews of interesting codas across the world. These individuals are doing extraordinary things in their lives, and you need to know! I’ve got a few lined up already.

I also want to know what’s on the minds of many other Codas, so I’ve designed a series of video clips entitled “That!”. The sign “That” is a very popular concept in the signing community. I can’t really explain it, it’s just “that”. The mini interviews are based on one question, “What Does Coda Mean to Me”? You’ll be meeting even more Codas around the world.

I wanted resources, research and news mostly Coda related, so you’ll get that too. Oh and you can’t forget items focused on Koda (minor kids of deaf adults). However, here comes the disclaimer, throughout all the Coda stuff, I’ll be blogging about anything and everything in between, cuz after all, this blog is … all about me.

Enjoy,
Codadiva
